Obituary of Piroska Mencseli

    Piroska Mencseli, age 92, of Fairfield, beloved wife of Laszlo Mencseli for 65 years, passed away on May 23, 2025.

    Piroska was born in Szentgotthard, Hungary, and immigrated to the U.S. in 1956 and had been a resident of Fairfield for 57 years. She worked for 34 years for Heim in Fairfield. A devout Catholic, Piroska was a faithful parishioner of St. Emery Church.

    Piroska's memory will be lovingly remembered by her beloved son, Miklos Mencseli of Cheshire, her beloved grandchildren, Justin, of Wallingford, and Becky, of Colorado, and her sisters, Elizabeth Henn and Jolan Henn of Monroe, CT. 

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Laszlo, her parents, Istvan and Jolan Holecz, sister Ilona Gaal, and daughter-in-law Martha Mencseli.

    Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Emery Church, 838 Kings Highway E., Fairfield. Entombment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
