Obituary of Michael Charles Madar

Michael Charles Madar, of Fairfield, passed suddenly from a result of the Covid virus. He was 54. Michael has a wide world of friends and family that he paid close attention to, and they all loved him dearly. Michael is survived by his Mom, Maria “Sara” Madar of Fairfield; his brother, Robert K. Madar and his wife Lynn of Trumbull; his niece, Michelle Madar (John Fox) Saugus, MA, his nephew, Bobby X. Madar of Trumbull, and the Family Dog Bacardi. He is also survived by Aunts Petra Collazo, Marcia Engle (Bob), Joan Flynn (Jim), and Raquel Rivera and Uncle Luis Castro and over 20 cousins from The Rivera and Madar Wings of the family, including, Miriam, Luisito, Chuck, Carmen, Victor, Tito, Jessie, Gloria, Dave, Eric, Lisa, Carolyn, Tony, Audrey, Rosie, Denise, Cathy, Tera, Leonel, Jimmy, Jo-Ann, Melinda, Louis, David, Alaina, Eric Jordan, Gerry, Mark, Carmencita,and extended family, Kim & Carol Schmidt, and Evelyn Dudeck. He was predeceased by his Father Robert C. Madar, and Family Dog Munson. Michael was raised in Black Rock CT and lived there most of his life. He moved to Hoboken, NJ, and moved to Fairfield CT after his father passed in 2000. Michael was dedicated to his ailing mom Sara, and took care of her along with his brother. Mom had a most thoughtful and generous son that shared her life. Michael adored his brother who was his closest friend as they would not go one day without talking or texting each other. Michael adored his sister in law, Lynn and his niece Michelle and nephew Bobby X. They shared many wonderful adventures and had great outings at Yankee Stadium events. Michael was a Portfolio Controller with L&L Holding Company LLC in NYC for over 20 years. he was dedicated to his work to the end. Michael was a "Live Events guy.” If there was a live event, a Rock Concert, Sporting event he was there. They called him “Maestro” as he lead his friends and family on such adventures! He organized Morning walks at Saint Mary’s by the Sea, or Weekend eating at the local Diners. Michael also was a long time member of a High End Steak Dinner Club with his NYC Friends including Howard Slavin and Steven Sosnick. His Knowledge of Yankee History, Pop Culture and music was outstanding! Michael was a Live Concert go-er In addition to the Beatles cover bands, he was a Bruce Springsteen Fan and attended over a dozen of Bruce’s concerts. Michael was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus member from Father Coleman Council 2616 of St. Thomas of Aquinas and was active in many charitable actions the Knights provided including standing Watch over the Annual Christmas Creche on Christmas eve before midnight with his fellow Brother Knights. He would organize visits with his friends and give support to his fellow friend Bert and his ailing mom, surprising them with food. & gifts out of the blue. The Horde Fraternity was another part of his life. This Horde nickname given to the group of his closest friends and brother which originated from his days playing Rec softball in Fairfield and Milford. The Horde was his Band of Brothers and they loved him dearly. Lead by his brother Bob, and his fellow Horde’s Kip Curry, Manny Rosales, John “JAW” Weir, John Bissenden, Bert Kisco, Pete Sanzano, Brian & Gary Sikorski, Gus Cogan, Kyle & Scott Macleod, Steve Foldy, Mike Gagner, Ed Cotone, Tom Steinke, Scott Bucci, Tom Viciglia, John Sweeney, Eloy Rodriguez, Drew Shinglar and the late Ed Vizi. Michael traveled on many Baseball trips around the US. These trips were known as the “Boyz of Summer” trips and he was able to attend almost every stadium short of a few on the West coast. Michael a HUGE YANKEE FAN and attended over 250 plus Yankee games over his lifetime mostly with his brother Bob , and witnessed the 1999 World Series Championship over the Braves at Yankee Stadium & 2009 World Series vs Phillies. He had such great times attending games in the Bronx and considered Yankee Stadium his sports church. He was a member of SABR baseball and attended their annual baseball conventions with his Friend Big Pete Cava. Michael was also an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan starting from his early Roger Staubach era. His greatest Dallas Cowboy event was attending the SUPER BOWL XXVIII at the Georgia Dome 1-30-1994 and saw the Dallas Cowboys defeat the Buffalo Bills! Michael was part of the Giants Road Crew Travel Group and attended many memorable Road Football games including Dallas Texas for the Debut of AT&T Stadium in 2009. Also including a historical side trips to Arlington TX for the site of the JFK assassination! Mike was an avid traveler to other locations Especially, Highpoint New Hampshire, South Carolina, New Orleans, Dallas, Caribbean Island, and numerous trips to Las Vegas with his Horde Brothers. HE WAS A FRIEND TO ALL WHO KNEW HIM AND WILL BE GREATLY MISSED.
