Florence Juliet Pittu, age 97, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 27, 2017. Born in Bridgeport on November 9, 1919, daughter of the late Thomas and Rincea Fatse Pittu, Flora was a lifelong Bridgeport resident. She was a Veteran of WWII, serving as a Master Sergeant in the Womens Army Corps.
She went on to work for the Connecticut Judicial Branch in Juvenile Court for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church. Flora especially enjoyed traveling to Europe with family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Virginia " Gina " Cook of Fairfield as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am in St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church, 504 Sport Hill Rd., Easton with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport with Military Honors. Friends may call at the St. Dimitrie Church on Monday from 10 am until the time of services.
