Obituary of James Anderson Mindrum

James Anderson Mindrum, age 43, of Stratford, CT, formerly of Southport, CT, passed away on February 27, 2017. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Thomas and Alice Anderson Mindrum, of Southport; his two brothers and sister-in-law, Christopher Mindrum and his wife Elaine Romanelli, of New York, NY, and Eric Mindrum, of Norwalk; by his aunts and uncles, Dennis Harding, of Omaha, NE, Mary Anderson Eddings and her husband Jon, of DeKalb, IL, Sarah Anderson Kulzer and her husband Edward, of Lemont, IL, Nancy Anderson Hedberg, of DeKalb, IL, Bob Mindrum and his wife Cathy, of West Lafayette, IN, Craig Mindrum and his wife Donna, of Oak Park, IL; and by his many cousins and dear friends. Jim was predeceased by his grandparents Norman and Dorothy Mindrum, and Gene and Marjorie Anderson; his aunt Susan Anderson Harding; his two uncles Christopher Hedberg and Jon Mindrum; and his cousin Daniel Mindrum. Raised in Southport, Jim graduated from Fairfield High School. He attended Southern Connecticut State University before receiving his BS in Marketing from the University of Phoenix. He worked for National Amusements and Showcase Cinemas prior to a number of positions in Sales and Retail Management, most recently with The Hertz Corporation. Spending quality time with his family and friends was one of Jim's life joys. In addition, he had many passions including writing, reading, collecting cameras and watches, listening to classic Rock & Roll, watching movies—especially The Wizard of Oz—and spending time with his beloved dogs Baby, Lady and Ashli. A man of faith, memories of his warmth and big-hearted kindness to others will be remembered by all those he touched. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. His burial service will take place on Saturday at 10 AM at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 661 Old Post Road, Fairfield, with the interment to follow in the church's Memorial Garden.
