Obituary of Deryl M. Haskard
Deryl M. Haskard, age 69, of Fairfield, beloved wife of John Haskard, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.
Born in Hartford to the late Dominic and Elizabeth Falletti Bartone, Deryl graduated from East Catholic High School in Manchester and Bay Path College with a degree in medical administration. She lived in Fairfield for 36 years and was an active member of St. Pius X Parish and the PTA when her children attended school. Deryl was an athlete her entire life and was very accomplished in tennis, golf, and skiing, and was a member of the Black Rock Yacht Club for many years. Always willing to volunteer, Deryl was on the Board of Directors of the Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival for over 25 years and decorated the Burr Homestead displaying her artistic talents. She loved to travel and took great pleasure in going to New York City to see Broadway plays. Most of all in life, Deryl loved her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 40 years, John, Deryl’s memory will be cherished by her daughter, Danielle Ascione, and her husband, David, of Baltimore, MD; her son, Nicholas Haskard, and his fiancée, Tracy Maclaughlin, of East Boston, MA; grandchildren, Dominic and Sisley Ascione; a sister-in-law, Kathy Bartone, of Glastonbury, wife of Deryl’s late brother, Douglas Bartone; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 4-8 p.m in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Pius X Church, Fairfield. Her burial will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Green Cemetery in Glastonbury.
