Stephen P. Csvihinka, age 86, of Bridgeport, passed away October 18 , 2017 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather of seven. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jessie (Tolmie) Csvihinka, his three children Carol Langan (Terry Langan), Jean Csvihinka (Gina Bonfietti), Stephen Csvihinka (Sue Csvihinka), and grandchildren Christopher, Colleen, Stephen, Tyler, Lia, Michaela, and Jaden.
Stephen, also known as Pete, loved growing up in the Hungarian section of the West End, known as "hunktown". He attended Long Fellow School, Whittier School, and Bassick High School. He was employed as a machinist at Harvey Hubbell where he met his wife Jessie. He loved fishing at St Mary's by the Sea and was a recent member of the Gaelic Club of Fairfield.
Stephen took great pride in the love of his family who will cherish many fun times and wonderful stories. His affection and joy was demonstrated by often shouting, "What a family, what a family!"
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 22 from 2-5 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center with a prayer service at 4 PM. His interment will be private.
The family wishes to thank the staff of VITAS Healthcare of Waterbury for the outstanding hospice care given to Stephen.
