Obituary of Laureen Williams
Laureen "Rene" McFadden Williams, age 92, devoted wife of the late Frederick I. Williams, of the Lordship section of Stratford, passed away peacefully at home with her family on November 11, 2017.
Rene's memory will be cherished by her daughter, Maureen Lotzko, and her husband Robert; loving grandaughters, Kaitlynn and Sarah; sister-in-law, Shirley McFadden; brother-in-law, Kaye Williams and his wife Barbara; many nieces, nephews, and family friends, all of whom she loved deeply. In additional to her husband Fred, she was predeceased by her parents, John and Helen Germaine McFadden; her siblings, Shirley McCormack and her husband Jack, William McFadden and his wife Marley, John McFadden.
Born and raised in the West End of Bridgeport, Rene resided near the beach in Fairfield for 30 years, and moved to Englewood, FL before returning to Connecticut to live with her family in Lordship. She worked briefly for the phone company while her beloved Freddy served in the Navy during World War II. Her greatest lifelong passion was to love and care for her husband, daughter, son-in-law, granddaughters, and extended family. Spending the summer time on Fairfield Beach while sunbathing, swimming, and collecting sea shell with her family, and her many beach friends, gave Rene much joy. She will be remembered for her warm, welcoming smile and embrace by all whom she came to know.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday 1030 AM directly in Our Lady of Peace Church, 10 Ivy Road, in Lordship. A private inurnment will take place on Wednesday in Saint Thomas Cemetery.
