Obituary of Joan B Rogowski

Joan Barry Rogowski, age 87, of Southport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2017.
Born in New York City, daughter of the late John and Ann Leahy Barry, Joan moved to Bridgeport and later to Fairfield where she had lived for over 50 years. She was a graduate of the Georgetown School of Nursing, "Class of 1955" and later taught at the St. Vincent's School of Nursing in Bridgeport before working as a Registered Nurse for Silver Hills of New Canaan until her retirement.
Joan enjoyed knitting and her pet dogs. She will be fondly remembered as a caring person and a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Paul Rogowski of Champaign, IL. and John Rogowski. Joan leaves behind her grandson, Jonathan Meci as well as her sister, Patricia Cunningham of Florida, a niece Patricia and nephews Kevin, Edward and Mark Cunningham and Richard, Paul and Michael Smith. She was predeceased by her sister Anne Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center and at11 am in St. Luke Church, 49 Turkey Hill Rd., Westport with burial to follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
