Obituary of Elizabeth Nastu
Elizabeth Nastu, age 91, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2018.
Born in Bridgeport on October 25, 1926, daughter of the late Dimitrie and Nasta Cashevelly Nastu, Betty was a lifelong Bridgeport resident. She had worked for the Bryant Electric Co. of Bridgeport for many years until her retirement. Betty was a longtime member of St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church, she sang in the church choir and was a willing volunteer for many church festivals. Betty was an avid New York Yankees and Knicks fan, she enjoyed playing bingo and the occasional trip to the casino. She will be fondly remembered as a loving sister and aunt and for her unconditional generousity to her family. She will be greatly missed.
Betty is survived by her sisters, Margaret Michaels and Sylvia Culetsu, both of Bridgeport, nephews James Michaels and his wife Olga of Bridgeport and John Culetsu of Las Vegas, NV. She leaves behind great nephews John Michaels, and his fiancee, Niurka Diaz and James Michaels, and great-great nieces Skylar and Arianna.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12 noon in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
