Obituary of Charlene Orszag
Charlene McNulty Orszag, age 68, of Fairfield, beloved wife of Ronald Orszag Sr., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.
Born in Bridgeport on July 9, 1949, daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Turey McNulty, Charlene was a Fairfield Town resident for most of her life. She had worked for the St. Vincent's medical Center credit union for many years and more recently for the Fairfield Motor Inn reception for several years until her retirement.
Mrs. Orszag belonged to the American legion Post 143 of Fairfield, where she served as treasurer, she was also the treasurer of DESA ( Destroyer Escort Service Association ), was a life member of the VFW Post 9427 ladies auxiliary and belonged to the Port V, N.A.N.V. Charlene enjoyed crocheting for family and friends and made many blankets for Veterans. She liked baking Hungarian specialties, and loved gardening, especially caring for her vegetables, flowers and her favorite purple crocus's. More than anything, she lived for her grandchildren and took great pleasure in spoiling them.
In addition to her husband Ron, Charlene leaves behind her son, Ronald Orszag Jr., and his wife Iliana of Fairfield, a daughter Pamela Schneider and her husband Ronald of Monroe, grandchildren Ryan, Kyle, Alyssa and Hayley Luise, Elizabeth Orszag and step grandchildren Valeria and Diego. She was predeceased by her infant brother Charles McNulty, Jr and her special little "Best Friend", Lucy.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 27, from 4-7 pm in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center with a prayer service at 6:30 pm.
