Obituary of Frances E. Balog

Frances Cronin Balog, age 88, devoted wife of Joseph Balog, Sr., of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2018.

Fran will be lovingly remembered by her children, Mary F. Balog, of the Black Rock, Kathy M. Balog, of Duluth, GA, Joseph Balog Jr and his wife Irene, of Derby; two grandson Joseph Balog III of Derby, John Bouton and his wife Andrea, of Derby; two great grandchildren, Jack and Rozalyn Bouton; one sister, Mary Gunther of New Milford; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband Joseph, she was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Rachel Hall Cronin a sister Eunice Cronin and a brother Joseph Cronin.

Frances enjoyed driving through Fairfield and looking at the dogwood trees in bloom with her late sister Eunice as well as golfing, reading and knitting. She adored her cat patch that she rescued from a shelter in Duluth, Georgia. She was an avid UConn Lady Huskies basketball fan and New England Patriot fan.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 29th, from 3-7 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 30th, at 1015 AM in the funeral home and 11 AM in Saint Ann Church with her interment to follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery.
