Obituary of Thomas P. Klinko

Thomas Peter Klinko, age 62, a lifelong resident of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2018.

Tom's memory will be embraced by his sisters, Marsha Santilli and her husband Domenic, of Wallingford, Janet Klinko and her husband Michael Tintrup, of Trumbull; one nephew, Daniel Santilli; one niece, Laura Canby and her husband Michael; two great nieces, Aubrey and Kylie Canby; his aunt, Chev Geriak, of Stratford; several cousins. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Klinko, Jr. and Eleanor Csontos Klinko, and his brother, Joseph M. Klinko.

Tom was a talented woodworker. From an early age he honed his carpentry skills and made numerous pieces of furniture, cabinetry, and artisan quality wood crafts during his lifetime. He was employed by Fairfield Lumber, Consolidated Controls, and the Town of Westport's DPW, as well as, providing carpentry services to his own clientele.

Tom enjoyed the outdoors and especially liked to fish. Many of his days were happily spent casting or bait fishing along a scenic river or lakeside. Tom loved his family and looked forward to seeing them whenever possible. He quietly touched many people through his life and will be remembered for his kindness.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 AM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center with his burial to follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery. Friends may greet his family from 10 AM until the time of service.
