Obituary of Mary H. Kovacs

Mary H. Kovacs, age 97, of North Haven, formerly of Fairfield, devoted wife to the late Michael Kovacs, passed away on May 26, 2018.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her children, Maryann Kovacs, of North Haven, Michael Kovacs and his wife Kathy, of Shelton; her cherished grandchildren, Kelly Kovacs, Michael Kovacs, Theresa Turcio Kovacs, Rick Miani and his wife Ilana; great grandchildren, Zachary and Emily Miani; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband Michael, Mary was predeceased by her parents, Charles Nagy and Theresa Horvath Nagy; her siblings, Charles Nagy, James Nagy, William Nagy, Joseph Nagy, and Theresa Dobi; her grandson, Mark Kovacs.

A homemaker, Mary enjoyed preparing her signature Hungarian meals and desserts for her family and friends. She was a lifetime member of Saint Emery Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Fairfield. She was an election poll station volunteer for the Town of Fairfield for many years. Mary loved to follow baseball, especially the Saint Louis Cardinals. Her kindness touched countless people throughout her long beautiful life.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 11 AM in the funeral home.
