Obituary of Mihai Palavra

Mihai Palavra, age 91, of Trumbull, husband of the late Steriana Naciadis Palavra, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.

Born in Bazarjic, Bulgaria, Mr. Palavra had lived in Romania for many years before coming to the United States in 1969 to Bridgeport and then to Trumbull over 30 years ago. While in Romania, Mihai served in the Army and worked as a government accountant. Here he worked for the Lindquest Supply Co. until his retirement. Mr. Palavra was a longtime member of St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church. He was very proud of his Romanian Heritage and equally proud to be an American.

He is survived by his sons, Constatine Palavra and his wife Sharon of Bridgeport, John Palavra and his wife Penny of Seymour and Tommy Palavra and his wife Helen of Bridgeport, grandchildren Michael and Melissa, Johnny and Deanna and Tommy Palavra Jr. Mihai leaves behind a sister Cheratsa Beciu of Romania as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Geta Goga.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 pm in St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church, 504 Sport Hill Rd., Easton with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 10 am until the time of services. Arrangements in care of the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home.
