Obituary of Sandor Horvath
Sandor (Sam) Horvath, age 66, formerly of Milford, husband of Susan Paul Horvath, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.
Born in Csykanydoroslo, Hungary on July 10, 1954, son of the late Zoltan and Katalin Horvath, Sam and his family came to the United States in 1956 and he had lived in Milford and Derby for most of his life.
He had worked for the Bullard Co. and later for Sikorsky Aircraft for many years until his retirement. He also bartended at his families business, the former Kossuth Club of Bridgeport. He also substitute taught his trade (Machine Shop) at Platt Tech.
Sam enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and bird watching. He also loved helping coach his son Adam while if he was younger in youth football (Derby), Elvis Presley music, dancing, and the occasional trip to the casino. He was the life of the party!
Sam was very proud of his Hungarian heritage and more than anything he loved his family, and would always be surrounded by them, or on the phone with them.
In addition to his wife Susan, Sam leaves behind his children, Elizabeth (Lizzy) Farinella, and her husband, Aristide, of New Canaan, Christina Horvath, and her fiancée, Anthony Berrios, of Naugatuck, Victoria Cascarelli, and her husband, Jeffrey, of Monroe, Adam Horvath of Bethany and Steven Horvath of Derby. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Daniel DaCruz, Anthony and Abel Horvath, Toni Marie and Jace Berrios, and Alexander and Savannah Cascarelli; sisters, Monika Mason (Charles); and nieces, Emily Mason and Katalin Somers all of Annapolis, MD.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford. There will be no prior calling hours.
