I was tremendously saddened to learn of Brendan's death. I was fortunately able to sit down and talk with him over the last year and enjoyed his company immeasurably. Our discussions ranged from our Army experiences to business to our families and to man's social contract with his fellow man.
I considered him a good friend dating from our work together at Citicorp; He was smart, observant and focussed. I will miss our chats about the finance industry and how it had changed (for the worse). As a fellow veteran I valued his devotion to the country, his active duty service and the pure joy swapping of stories about our experiences. Unlike many others who profess a desire to help their fellow man he did something about it. That's how I remember him - a good guy who acted. In my view that's a great way to be remembered.

To the entire Miles family - it was with much sadness to hear about Brendan’s passing. Growing up with the younger Miles siblings, they always made me think of Brendan as a giant among giants. There were times when I thought someone like Brendan couldn’t possibly be true. He lived his life in a way we all should and he will be greatly missed.
Sending prayers to each of you.
Love, Rob Berry

To The Miles Family- I was lucky enough to have served with Brendan on several LifeBridge committees and was always amazed at his dedication and work ethic. He set an example that many of us tried to follow. His legacy of unwavering commitment to causes he believed in- family and charitable groups- will stand as comfort in his absence.
My sincerest condolences for your loss.

Carolyn, I knew Brendan a very short time, but long enough to learn some powerful lessons and to get a glimpse into his massive and compassionate heart. Thank you for opening up your home to us so we could visit with Brendan, enjoy his company, and get to know him. My most sincere sympathies to you, Molly, and the boys.
Rest in peace Brendan and may God be with you.

Dear Carolyn, Keegan, Patrick, Molly, Joan and the entire Miles family(my second family),
My deepest sympathy on the loss of my very special longtime childhood friend Brendan. His sister Bernadette Brendan and I go way back to the play date days and hanging out near the black gate where we initially grew up in Elmhurst with our wonderful parents ! Eight awesome amazing wonderful brothers and sisters later Brendan was the ultimate Big Brother everyone looked up to.
Brendan was handsome, charming, loving, witty, intelligent and the BEST guy friend I ever had and ever will. I was lucky to have Brendan in my life for 62 years! He was the sweetest loving boy who grew up to be an incredible man.
Brendan was lucky to meet a lovely sweet amazing woman Carolyn whom he loved adored and had 3 beautiful children that all 4 were his life and he was so devoted to all of them.
Brendan was the BEST son, brother, husband, dad, uncle, friend and everyone he knew loved and respected him.
He was so thoughtful generous and helped developed and organized the amazing organization LifeBridge to help underprivileged children. I cant say enough about Brendan and his love, strength, zest for life and his long courageous battle with Cancer.
We all lost a wonderful man who taught us all how life should be lived. God Bless you Brendan and your incredible family. I. will mis your dearly,
Love and prayers, Lynn xoxo
