Obituary of Sharon Pavliscak

Sharon Lillian Bok Pavliscak, age 76, of Shelton, beloved wife of James J. Pavliscak, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday August 2, 2021.

Born in Bridgeport on December 8, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Gene and Frances Bok. Sharon attended Bridgeport public schools and graduated from Central High School. She then studied at the University of Bridgeport and Southern Connecticut State University where she received her masters and sixth year degree in Reading. Sharon worked as a teacher for the Bridgeport Board of Education, retiring after 35 years of service.

Sharon enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, and family vacations. She especially enjoyed her many visits to Disney World with her children and later with her grandchildren. She also liked to host holiday dinners with her family and outdoor gatherings, with her many friends and family.

In addition to her loving husband, Jim of 52 years, she is survived by her three daughters, Susan of Ipswich, MA, Laurie of Jersey City, NJ, and Bonnie, of Cordova, TN. Also her brothers, Craig Bok of Hilliard, OH, Norman Bok of Cave Creek, AZ; and her sister, Marsha Bok of Milford, CT. Also three grandchildren, Erin Haaga, Joshua Haaga, and Persephone Altieri, along with many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Neal Fischbach, APRN Renee Moye, and the dedicated nurses and staff at the Smilow Cancer center in Fairfield for their expert and compassionate care that was given to Sharon during her long and courageous battle with cancer.

A visitation will be held for family and friends on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at the Lesko & Polke funeral home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. in St Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Shelton. Interment will be held privately.
