Obituary of Mildred Yorke

Mildred Brenna Yorke, age 94, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Albert Yorke, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, August 2, 2021 at her home.

Mildred was born in Bridgeport to the late John and Veronica Torre Brenna. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, knitting and playing cards. Mildred took great pleasure in caring for her home, cooking family meals, and having company over.

Mildred’s memory will be lovingly remembered by her children, Albert J. Yorke, and his wife, Donna Kennedy Yorke, of Summit, NY, Barbara A. Carlson, and her husband, Kim W. Carlson, of Oxford, Stephen D. Yorke, and his wife, Kathy A. Leary, of New Rochelle, NY, and Kimberly N. Cortigiano, and her husband, Michael R. Cortigiano, Jr.; grandchildren, Daniel, Timothy, Michael, and Thomas Yorke, Alexander, Jeffrey, and Ryan Yorke, Stephen Carlson Rebecca Strubbe, Jonathan Carlson, and Joshua, Jacob, and Joseph Cortigiano; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Anthony Ferraro, and Michael, Pasqual, and John Brenna; and sisters, Mary Fabrizi and Rose Fetcho.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Southport Congregational Church, 524 Pequot Avenue, Southport. Friends may greet the family on Friday, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Interment will be held privately.
