Anne L. Chatlos, age 89, of Fairfield, devoted wife to the late George E. Chatlos, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2021, with her loving daughter by her side. Born to the late John and Anna (Petek) Marosa, Anne was raised in the West End of Bridgeport. She graduated from St. Stephen's Parish school, Bassick HS ('49), and Saint Joseph College of West Hartford, ('53), earned a BS in Chemistry and participated in the theater group. She completed all academic endeavors with Honors. She began her career at Handy & Harman in Fairfield, met the love of her life, married and soon began her family, leaving work to raise her 7 children. Anne would ultimately return to Handy & Harman to complete her career as an analytical chemist, retiring in '95, at age 63. Throughout these years, Anne was very active in the Holy Family Parish community, including on the Parish Council and as Trustee for many years. She cherished her role as a Eucharistic minister, especially when bringing comfort and the Sacrament to the sick and homebound. She was a Member of the Bishop's Synod Council, and was awarded the Marian Medal for service to the church from the Diocese of Bridgeport. She was a catechist of the RCIA at Holy Family Parish, and led many Guilds and prayer groups. She enjoyed music and theater, sang beautifully and attended the Yale Repertory theater and the Goodspeed Opera House for many seasons. She remained a very active St. Joseph College Alumna. She was an avid traveler, and visited many US states and several countries, from her family's homeland of Slovenia, to Italy, France, Greece, Israel, Turkey, Portugal, Ireland and others. These trips were family-focused, and religious in nature, including visits to many sacred sites. Anne brought love, kindness and joy to all she met, and was loved by all who knew her.
