Obituary of Storrs Dutko

Please share a memory of Storrs to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Storrs Knapp Dutko, age 77 of Fairfield, husband of Dianne Hiza Dutko, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021.

Born in Bridgeport on January 15, 1944, son to the late Theadore and Sylvia Knapp Dutko. Storrs had been a lifelong Fairfield resident. He had worked in the Fairfield Public works for over 25 years until his retirement. He enjoyed working on anything mechanical and spent his life working on cars, motorcycles and firearms.

He also enjoyed home restoration projects with his son. He also loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and spent much time in Vermont. Storrs especially loved competitive target shooting and was a past president of the Bridgeport Rifle Club. He also belonged to Stratford Gun Collectors.

In addition to Dianne, he is survived by his son, Marc Dutko and his wife Mary of Cromwell, a sister Susan Duncan and her husband Robert of Fairfield, several nieces and nephews and his grand-cats Mac and Tilly. Storrs was a direct descendant of Charles and Augustus Storrs whose land grant established the University of Connecticut Storrs campus.

Interesting, and certainly fitting since Storrs passed on Halloween, he was also a descendant of Goodwife Knapp, who was executed in Fairfield for witchcraft in 1653.
