Eddie was predeceased by an aunt, Mary Helen Scarnuley; and maternal grandparents, William and Florence Scarnuley.

Eddie graduated from Fairfield Preparatory School Class of 2013, attended the University of New Hampshire and Bullard Havens Technical school for electrical work. Eddie was previously employed as Lead Electrician for Casey Electric in Bridgeport before moving to Poulsbo, Washington where he continued work as an electrician. He returned to Connecticut in March. Very skilled in his field, Eddie loved his career and going back to work with his father, uncle Tim, and cousin Ryan.

He took great pleasure camping in the Adirondacks with his family, kayaking, being outdoors, sitting down at Seabright Beach with mom and Violet, and listening to music. He loved attending “Swamp Hogs” shows to watch his brothers, Jimmy and Catfish perform. Truly a kind hearted man, Eddie was loved by all who came to know him. He enjoyed sharing a good laugh with his family and friends. Good natured and spirited, Eddie’s greatest passion was for his family and friends; he was especially enamored with his niece, Violet. He also loved his cat, Sparky, who drove back with him from Washington.

Eddie always found good in people and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He will be sadly missed by mom, dad, Jimmy, Catfish, Violet, and all his family and friends. For those cherishing his memory, comfort may be found in knowing he no longer will struggle with addiction and is now at peace.

Eddie will not be defined by his illness. Instead the family wishes to acknowledge his valiant effort to overcome a disease that simply became more powerful than him. Everyone knows someone aflicted and it is our fervant hope that we can help to end the stigma of addiction so that individuals and families who need help feel the freedom to do so.
