Obituary of James W. Hasak

James W. Hasak, age 84,  of Fairfield, husband of the late Elizabeth Turcsany Hasak, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 27, 2021 with his loving family by his side.

Born in Bridgeport on June 9, 1937, son of the late Michael and Eleanor Koscal Hasak, Mr. Hasak was a lifelong Fairfield Town resident. He had worked as a pressman for the Ct. Post for many years until his retirement. He was a devout catholic and a longtime parishoner of St. Emery Church. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus, Fr Coleman Council and was a volunteer coach for the Special Olympics. Jim enjoyed world travel, he was an avid golfer and a fan of the New York Yankees and Giants. He liked his dogs Molly and Myla and more than anything loved the times that he spent with his family.

He is survived by his sons, James M. Hasak and his wife Lynn and Christopher Hasak, all of Fairfield, daughters Donna Lozanov of Stratford and Susan Nagy and her husband Jules of Milford, grandchildren Danielle Lomagno and her husband Gabe, Allison Greenan and her husband Emmett, Jill Ruskay and her husband CJ, Michael Lazanov and his wife Katie, Jonathan Lozanov and Andrew and Lauren Nagy, great-grandchildren Isabell, AJ, Alex, Jacqueline, Emma, Mary and Lucy. James was predeceased by his grandson Matthew Lozanov.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 1 at 10:15 am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center and at 11 am in St. Emery's Church, 838 Kings Hwy, Fairfield with burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3-7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the ASPCA of a local animal shelter.
