Obituary of James L. Sandor
Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James Louis Sandor of Monroe, previously of Fairfield, age 67, has our respect, admiration, and now deep sadness. Born in Bridgeport on September 4, 1954, he passed away of heart failure in his home on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
Jim was a man whose deeds were earnest, whose heart was faithful, and whose words were true. A graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School, Bullard Havens, and Porter Chester School, Jim has held a Home Improvement Contractor’s Registration since 1972. As a National ICC Licensed Chief Building Official and other numerous inspector licenses, Jim enjoyed devoting his years with his loving wife, Bonnie, and the Town of Monroe. He achieved Architectural and Civil Design, Connecticut Building Inspector, Health and Septic Inspector Licenses and Degrees. He trained other fine inspectors, both for the State and Monroe. Many friendships were built over his years of public service, and we will remember his integrity, gallantry and general willingness to help. Jim was also the first four-year President of the Hills of Monroe condominium association.
Jim was the first-born son of the late Bertie and Olga Kopasz Sandor of Fairfield. He will be remembered and is survived by his loving wife Bonnie Lynn Sandor; his sister Sharon Jean Horvath and husband Antal of Peoria , AZ; his nephew Christian Michael Smith and great-nephew Zachary Michael Smith; Jim’s niece Melissa Dawn Hoyt and her husband Loyd, Jim’s great nieces Katie Lynn Jean Walker and Ryann Jo Hoyt, and his great nephew Denim Joshua Walker; as well as his brother Michael John Sandor and his wife Carol of Oxford; his niece Jessica Nora DeVoe and husband Joseph; his great nephews Cayden, Mason and Logan, and his nephew Jonathan Michael Sandor and his wife Jami.
He is also survived by his father-in-law Robert Earl Lasko of Fairfield, and his sister-in-law Lori Jayne Krysiuk and her husband Michael Frank Krysiuk of Stratford. Additionally, Jim is survived by his cousins Darlene Dobler-Palin and her husband Harry Palin of Monroe, Jack Sabo and his wife JoAnn of Cromwell, Linda Tetreault of North Troy, Vermont, and many other cousins, nieces and nephews, far too numerous to mention.
Lastly, Jim is survived by his cousins Paul and his wife Phyllis Mandulak of Monroe, Tom Sandor and his wife Tracy of Monroe, Shirley and her husband Alan Neuman of New Jersey, and Bobby Sipos of Seymour.
Private services were held on Sunday, January 16th, in the Lesko Polke Funeral Home in Fairfield Center.
