Obituary of Liviu Banc

Liviu Banc, age 86, of Fairfield, loving husband of Maria Banc, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022.

 

Born in Brasov, Romania on August 15, 1935, son of the late Gheorghe and Valeria Colt Banc, Liviu and Maria came to the United States in 1982. While in Romania, he served in the Romanian Air Force as a radar operator. Liviu had worked as an agricultural engineer, specializing in animal feed products.

 

He enjoyed horseback riding, travel, especially cruises and going to the beach with his family. He was very proud of his Romanian heritage and loved cooking his Romanian specialties for his family and friends.

 

In addition to Maria, his wife of 57 years, Liviu leaves behind his son, Adrian Banc and his wife Tobe of Briarcliff, NY, grandchildren Alex, Olivia and Jacob Banc and his grand dog Freddie. He was predeceased by his sister Maria Lucaciu.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12 at 10 am at the Holy Brancoveanu Martyrs Romanian Orthodox Church, 554 Tunxis Hill Rd., Fairfield with burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
