Obituary of Nathalie Masters Strand
Nathalie Masters Strand, age 65, of Fairfield, devoted wife of the late Larry Strand, passed away in her home on March 4, 2022.
She will be lovingly remembered by her family, including her daughter Susan Masters and her fiancé, Daniel Csuka, of Fairfield; her cherished grandson, Elliot Csuka; her beloved mother, Jacqueline Le Vaillant Byrne, of Casa Grande, AZ; her sister, Gaelle Freer and her husband, Ralph, of Poplar Bluff, MO; her brother, Hugues Byrne and his wife, Lori, of Casa Grande, AZ; her nephews, Hugues “H.J.” Byrne, Alexander Freer, and Christopher Byrne; and her former husband, Robert Masters. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her father, James Byrne.
Born on the Fort Monmouth Army Base in New Jersey, she grew up in Hempstead, NY, and later lived in Bay Shore, Northport, and East Northport, NY before moving to Fairfield to be closer to her daughter’s family. She enjoyed a successful 40-year career in tax preparation and bookkeeping for the healthcare and hospitality industries.
Her greatest passion and joy in life was being a grandmother; although she had recently experienced health setbacks, she always found the energy for Elliot. She also loved entertaining family and friends, and her generosity knew no bounds. Additionally, she enjoyed reading, spending time at the beach, and having dogs – particularly her golden retrievers. Her memory will be embraced by all whom she touched in life.
Calling hours will be held on March 8th, Tuesday, from 4-8 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center.
