Obituary of William Martin Weaver Jr

William M. Weaver Jr. (Bill), a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the age of 95. Bill was born in Yonkers, NY on March 21, 1926. He resided in Port Chester, NY for fifty-five years. After graduating from Port Chester High School in 1944, Bill served in the Army Airforce during WW II. He then went on to graduate from Seton Hall University and became a Regional Sales Manager for a national shipping company for a period of 35 years. A longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Bill served as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, and on various church boards. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Third Degree, Port Chester, NY. Bill was a living example of his faith in his family, church, and community. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Bill is survived by his wife, Gloria McCarthy Weaver; his brother, John G. Weaver; children, William Weaver, III (Fairfield, CT), Cynthia Derevjanik (Poughquag, NY), and Susan Solz (Fairfield, CT); grandchildren, John Michael Derevjanik, Christina Marie Derevjanik, William Solz, and Lillian Solz; and two great-grandsons, John M. Derevjanik, Jr. and Julian A. Derevjanik. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on March 18th at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 84 Sherwood Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06831. Burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1 High Street, Rye Brook, NY 10573, with Full Military Honors. Arrangements in the care of the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home.
