Obituary of Iulia Maria Buhaescu

Iulia Maria Enachescu Buhaescu, age 85, wife of Toader Buhaescu, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022.

Born in Boboc, Romania on August 13, 1936, Maria came to the United States in the mid 90’s to join her family. She lived with her children and grandchildren in NYC, Rainbow City, Alabama, Fairfield, CT and in Bridgeport, CT for several years. While in Romania, Mrs. Buhaescu had worked as a registered nurse until her retirement. Maria was an avid reader, she enjoyed gardening and tending to her flower gardens, she enjoyed traveling and knitting. She liked animals, especially her family’s pets Obi, Lando, Han, Solo and Sully. Maria loved cooking for her grandchildren and spending time with them. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her husband Toader, Mrs. Buhaescu is survived by her daughters, Mihaela Boran, and her husband, Eduard, of Fairfield and Anca Efrim, and her husband, Robert Kuzel, of Toronto, Canada; grandchildren, Julia-Nicole Boran and Tudor-Matthew Boran; sister, Elena Kirschen, of Sarasota, Florida; niece. Madeline Nicholson. and her children. Ryan, Claudia and Nicolette; niece, Camelia Enachescu, and her daughter, Sabina, of Sibiu, Romania; niece, Carmen Iuhas, and her husband, Tiberiu, and son, Bogdan, of Bucharest, Romania; nephew, Dan Enachescu, his wife, Miriana, and son, Livian, of Vienna, Austria; nephew, Florin Enachescu; niece, Adriana, and her husband, Dan, and their daughter, Diana, of Toronto Canada. She was predeceased by her brothers, Alexandru, Titi, and Culica Enachescu.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 2 to 4 pm in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center with a prayer service at 4 pm.
