Obituary of Geza Scap
Geza Scap, President and founder of Scap Auto Group passed away on Wednesday May 18th 2022.
Geza will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Juliana Scap-Kirby, son-in-law Peter A. Kirby and grandchildren Stephanie M. Kirby and Peter A. Kirby Jr., as well as, a dear friend Maria Leszczynska, He was predeceased by his beloved wife Slavica Zemljaric Scap.
Geza left behind a large legacy, Founding Scap Auto Group in 1962. He started with a 3,000 square foot gas station offering auto repair services and a body shop. Literally building his business from the ground up, Geza pumped the gas, serviced the vehicles, and performed body repairs etc. As time went on Geza was able to increase his staff and soon earned a solid reputation for servicing customers at the highest level of quality, honesty, and integrity. By 1979 he began selling vehicles and added a showroom featuring Dodge vehicles. By 1981 Geza had grown his business into the large multi-franchise dealership known today as Scap Auto Group which now features Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, Mitsubishi, and G&J Pre-owned vehicles. In 1998 Geza also acquired R.A Lalli, an aerospace sheet metal fabrication company, which is still in operation today. As an accomplished pilot and aviation enthusiast, he also established a precious metals transport service where he personally piloted the aircraft ferrying gold from the United States to Canada. In the little spare time that he had available, Geza enjoyed working on assembling his own small jet aircraft.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday May 22nd from 2 to 6 pm in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center. His Funeral Service and Entombment will be privately held at Mountain Grove Cemetery on Monday.
