Obituary of Stephen Pease

Please share a memory of Stephen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Stephen R Pease (Cellar), 34, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday October 23, 2021.  He was born on December 26, 1986 in New Haven, Connecticut and raised in Fairfield, Connecticut. Growing up, Stephen was an accomplished athlete.  He was an avid baseball player, wrestler, rugby player, and football player.  He was a fierce competitor.  Among his numerous athletic accomplishments were participation in Fairfield’s football and wrestling programs, many summers at football camp, and winning the Punt Pass and Kick competition held at halftime during the Jets Patriots game in 1991 in front of 78,000 fans.  Stephen proudly attended Coastal Carolina University (CCU) where he played on the rugby team and earned co-captain status in 2009.  The team went undefeated that year and won the National Championship. Stephen met the love of his life at CCU and they began dating after graduation.  Stephen and Kristy had their beautiful daughter Rylee in 2012, were happily married in 2015, and in 2016 they welcomed Charley which completed their family.

Anyone that knew Stephen could tell you that he was a hardworking man who never met a stranger and would gladly offer the shirt off his back to anyone in need.  Stephen was a skilled entrepreneur and knowledgeable business partner who saw potential in his business, strived for growth, and was integral in making it the successful business it is today.   Stephen was a “Jack of all Trades” with an infinite understanding of various things.  He was kind and loyal and would valiantly take on any problem or obstacle, head on.

In his free time, Stephen found peace with the wind in his hair and the sun warm on his face while on his motorcycle.  Above anything and all else, Stephen was a family man and truly relished spending time with his wife and children.  He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the amazing husband, father, and friend he truly was.

Left to cherish Stephen’s memory are his beloved wife Kristy Pease and their adoring daughters Rylee and Charley of Myrtle Beach SC; his father Richard Cellar II and wife Quezia Cellar with their daughter Jamily of CT; his step-mother Kathleen Keeler-Cellar of SC; his mother in-law Susan Giannetti and father-in-law Lawrence Giannetti of SC; his grandfather Richard Cellar and companion Connie Lehaney of CT; his grandmother Alice Ferrigno of CT; his half-brother Richard Cellar III of CT; his half-sister Ashley Harp of FL; several uncles, aunts,  nieces, nephews, and cousins; a large, loving, extended family; as well as an army of supportive friends, neighbors, and patrons. A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held on Sunday, June 5, at 9 am in St. Ann Church, 481 Brewster St., Black Rock. A reception will be held later at the Port V N.A.N.V. 69 Brewster St. from 2-6 PM.
