Obituary of Maria Varga

Maria Varga, age 82, of Fairfield, wife of the late James Varga, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 16, 2022.

Maria was born in Budapest, Hungary on August 26, 1939 and came to the United States in 1956 and had been a Fairfield Town resident for many years. She had worked for the Bead Chain Company of Bridgeport and later for Dresser Industries of Stratford until her retirement.

Maria enjoyed traveling, playing cards with family and friends and loved cooking and baking her Hungarian specialties for her family to enjoy. Maria will be lovingly remembered as a lady who would always put others before herself and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Anna Sudar, and her husband, Istvan, of Naugatuck and Nancy Szirtes, and her husband, Gabor, of Bridgeport. She leaves behind her precious grandchildren, James Pall, and his wife, Vanessa, Michelle Pall, and her fiancée, Brian Maroldt, and Steven Sudar and step-grandchildren Monika and Adam Szirtes; and great-grandchildren, Layla, Ava, and Logan; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, David Bauer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Emery's Church, 838 Kings Hwy, Fairfield with burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday June 24, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home,1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center.
