Obituary of Maria Schadl

Maria Makovec Schadl, age 91, of Fairfield, devoted wife to the late Anton Schadl, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2022.

Maria's memory will be embraced by her family including her loving children, Margaret Gross, and her husband Kingsley, of Trumbull, Anton Sadl and his wife Joyce, of Shelton; her cherished grandchildren, Diana Mlynarski and her husband Peter, of Trumbull, Gina Rodrigues and her husband Peter, of Shelton; beloved great grandchildren, Rexton and Brea Mlynarski, Jacob and Jace Rodrigues; her endearing sister, Franceska Makovec, of Slovenia; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband, Anton, Maria was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Franceska Jellic Mokovec.

Maria was a skilled machine operator for Heim Bearings for many years before her retirement. It was her strong faith in God and devotion to her family that was most central in her life. An active member of Holy Cross Church, she found great joy in spending time with her family and friends, especially when it involved cooking or baking her many delicious meals. She will be lovingly remembered by each whom she touched in life.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 3 to 6 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Funeral services will take place on Friday 9 AM in the Funeral Home and 10 AM in Holy Cross Church, with entombment to follow in Mountain Grove Mausoleum.
