Marie C. Kinsley, wife of the late Robert A. Kinsley, passed peacefully into her next life on the morning of Thursday, September 29, 2022. Born on October 17, 1924, Marie was the daughter of the late Mary (Cavedon) Zenorini and Henry Zenorini and is survived by her youngest sister, Gloria Markey of Sandy Hook, CT. Marie was predeceased by her sisters Elena McEntee and Antoinette Goddard, and her brother Reverend Henry Zenorini, SJ. Marie is also survived by her five sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Marianna, Nick and Pennie, Phil and Dorinda, Tom and Andrea and Tony and Beth. Marie also had thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren who are located throughout the country.
Marie grew up in Teaneck, NJ and graduated from Teaneck HS and Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School. Marie and Bob were married in Bogota, NJ on September 9, 1950. The newlyweds started their family in Stuyvesant Town, New York City. They moved to Dumont, NJ and then on to New Canaan, CT in 1958 where they lived for forty-four years and raised their five boys. Marie had her hands full but did a great job raising them with a firm but loving hand. Marie loved tennis and paddle tennis and played competitively and socially into her seventies with “the girls” at the Lake Club. She was also an avid tennis, Boston College Men’s basketball and UConn Women’s basketball fan faithfully watching tournaments and ball games on TV, giving players a little pep talk when needed. Marie did not like to cook but she could cook with the best of them; just ask her boys or any of their friends that came for pasta and sauce on Friday nights. During her entire 97 years Marie loved to spend a few weeks every summer in Middletown, RI. In later years Marie, like her mother, enjoyed a ride to Sachuest Beach and around the twelve-mile drive after a hot-fudge sundae from the Creamery. Marie was a sweetheart and when the boys moved out, they didn’t go far, raising their families in Fairfield, CT. She looked forward to their visits and spending time with her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
