Michael A. Terek, 95, of Fairfield, CT passed away on Monday, January 30th 2023.
Michael was born in Bridgeport, CT. He went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy. After completing his service, he attended the University of Bridgeport. Shortly after graduating, he moved to Fairfield where he resided for over 60 years.
Mike had a passion for public service. He was an active member of the Fairfield Republican party where he served on the RTM. Mike was also an active member of the Blind Veteran's Association (BVA), VFW and the American Legion Post 74 in Fairfield, CT where he enjoyed his weekly card game with his fellow Legionnaires. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, walking around town, and sharing his lifetime of stories and knowledge with everyone around him. In addition to his passion for public service, Mike was a proud parishioner, and one of the founding members of St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church. He was an original member of the first parish council in 1956. He also served as usher for many years.
Mike was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Dolores Terek; his son, Peter Terek; and his daughter, Denise Witkowski; brother, George Terek, and sister Anne Massery. He is survived by his son, Paul Terek; grandsons, Nicholas Terek (Madeline), Elliot Terek (Kayla), Henry DiJulio IV (Larissa); his great grandsons, Peter DiJulio and Carson Terek; his daughter in-law Carmella Terek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 5458 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604. Friends may greet the family at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service.
