Joan Alberta (Hollo) Wollert, age 90, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Robert Donald Wollert, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2023, at the Watermark at 3030 Park. Joan was born in Bridgeport on June 26, 1933, to the late John and Marcella Hollo.

Joan graduated from Harding High School in 1951 and pursued a career with TWA as a flight attendant until she married Robert in 1956. They resided in Black Rock until making Fairfield their home in 1965. After marriage, Joan was a homemaker and while raising her family, would be found on Jennings beach in the summer and Singer Island in the winter. She also enjoyed being a Cheerleading Coach and Brownie Leader at that time. Joan had a talent of knitting, gardening and a great game of Scrabble. She also worked for Gimbels in Bridgeport and Saks Fifth Avenue in Stamford as a Beauty Consultant.

Joan is survived by her two children, Michael (Grace) and Heidi (Dave); five cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Mackenzie, Zoe, Kenton (Jordan), and Michael (Caroline); and three great grandchildren, Ava, Kayden, and Ellie.

In addition to her loving husband of 60 years, Robert, Joan was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Avola; and brother-in-law, John Avola.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Watermark for their kindness and compassionate care.

Joan's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield, CT 06825
