Steve was the former owner of both Rinko Fuel Company and Kupchick Comfort Zone. He had a deep appreciation for his customers, attending to their HVAC needs as if they were his family. He was proud to know his son Peter continues the strong customer service legacy through his company in Fairfield, Peter Kupchick Heating & Cooling, Inc.
Steve was always kind and generous to everyone he met. He was quick to offer help to his friends, neighbors and family when they needed a hand up. He actively volunteered in many areas, coaching for Holy Family School sports, assisting at his church, and was a member of the Fairfield Prep Fathers Club. He was instrumental in the installation of the “Friday night lights” at Prep Alumni Stadium.
Steve loved music, especially big bands, all sports, especially football, baseball and golf. He also loved a good meal. During the winters he loved taking his kids, and their friends to Vermont to ski. Steve loved the family annual weeklong vacations in Misquamicut with his wife, his children and grandchildren. Steve especially loved to spoil his grandchildren.
Steve loved to tell stories of his younger days in Olyphant, PA most especially his legendary exploits on the gridiron, including winning the MVP of the year, all of which is carefully documented in a three-volume scrapbook and was shared with everyone and anyone who visited the Kupchick home. Steve loved to spin a yarn, often repeating the same stories to his family and friends.
Steve was the consummate family man who adored his children, but always told them his wife came first.
