Obituary of Veronica Rose Litrop

Veronica Rose Litrop, age 80, of Bridgeport, entered into eternal life on December 20, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, Veronica was the daughter to the late Stephen and Bessie (Marosa) Litrop. Veronica started her education at the St. Stephen's School then continued her education and graduated from Lauralton Hall, Albertus Magnus College, got her Master's at Fairfield University and her 6th at the University of Bridgeport. She was a retired teacher and had enjoyed teaching many years at Harding High School in Bridgeport. Veronica was a high spirited and high energy person. She was musically gifted and learned to play guitar, piano and had a lovely soprano signing voice. Veronica grew up in the West End of Bridgeport and thought it was the best place to grow up in. She won the CYO girls Softball Championship 2 years in a row and was a strong New York Yankee Fan. Veronica was a deep lover of animals, the protection of the environment and was proud of her Slovenian Heritage. She is survived by her beloved sister, Barbara Litrop, of Bridgeport; cousins, Jospeh Montanaro, and his wife, Mary, Monica Mancini, Maureen and Milton Repollett, Theodore Collins, The Farkas Family; and several family members in Slovenia, Dordogne, France and Toronto, Canada. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be held privately.
