Obituary of Marianne R. Hennessey

Marianne R. Hennessey, 83, of Bridgeport’s Black Rock, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Edward Michael Hennessey, her daughter and son-in-law Maura L. Hennessey and Garrett B. Waddell, her son and daughter-in-law Sean and Chrissy Hennessey, her grandchildren Braedon and Kendall Hennessey, her siblings Joanne(Minutola) Wise, Sylvester Minutola (Angela Mealy) and Joseph MinutolaBrothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews all of whom she adored.
Marianne was predeceased by parents Sylvester and Helen(DeVellis) Minutola, sister Helena (Minutola) Beauchamp and lifelong best friend Tobee McMellon. Marianne attended Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall for high school and continued to support it proudly for the remainder of her life. She was thrilled that both her daughter attended and granddaughter is currently attending and loving her alma mater. She was bestowed the honor of the coveted Claven Award which meant the world to her. She attended The University of Bridgeport for her undergraduate degree in teaching and met lifelong friends Toby and Cathy who she would meet with for lunch, shopping or trips to Block Island, one of her happiest places. When both her children had graduated college, Marianne went back to school to pursue her masters in clinical psychology and counseling so she could pursue her dream mission. She was a licensed therapist for 20+yrs specializing in treating victims of domestic abuse, marriage and family counseling and acting as a mediator. Her favorite things were spending time with her family and friends at the beach, traveling the world with John, and shopping at every TJMaxx and Marshalls in CT and Florida with Jeanne and Pat.
Calling Hours for Marianne will be held on Wednesday, December 13th, 3-7 pm at the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center. Her Funeral Mass will occur at Saint Ann's Church on Thursday, December 14, at 11 am. All other services will be held privately.
