Elizabeth K. Smith, age 100, of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Francis P. Smith, entered into eternal life on Friday, January 5, 2024, due to congestive heart failure.

Born in Bridgeport on July 15, 1923, Betty grew up in the Greenfield Hill section of Fairfield and attended Roger Ludlowe High School and graduated from Bassick High School. She would have been 101 this coming July.

Betty's memory will be lovingly remembered by her son, Wayne Smith, 67, who is a professional driver and enjoys martial arts and photography; two grandsons, Wayne Smith, Jr., 41, who is a chef and Daniel Lee, 39, who owns a demolition company; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, who were all veterans, with one having fought in the Battle of the Bulge at Normandy Beach on D Day.

Friends may greet the family on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. in the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. A service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
