Obituary of Virginia D. Cerrone

Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Virginia D. Cerrone, age 88, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Philip H. Cerrone, Jr. entered into eternal life on March 22, 2024.

Virginia was born and raised in the Bronx and lived in Fairfield for 52 years. She finished her college degree while raising four children and was an outstanding realtor who was beloved by fellow employees and clients. A wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Virginia was “Grandma Cerrone” to many children other than her own. When you visited her house there were always games and surprise goodies for the children, and the best homemade Italian food to “mangia”! You never had a meal without dessert and everyone left with a full heart and definitely a full stomach.

Virginia’s memory will be lovingly remembered by her children and significant others/ spouses, Philip III (Starr), Karen (Steve), Stephen (Mary), and Maria (Edward); 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her brother, Joseph; and her sisters, Vita and Veronica. In addition to her husband, Philip H. Cerrone, Jr., Virginia was predeceased by her parents, Dora and Joseph Carlone.

Calling hours will be held Monday, April 1, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 750 Tahmore Drive, Fairfield, CT 06825. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Holy Cross Church or the Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824, www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org.
