Obituary of Tracey Marie Macklin
Please share a memory of Tracey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tracey Marie Macklin, 44, of Fairfield, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, August 19th, 2024.
Born and raised in Fairfield, CT, Tracey attended La Salle University in Philadelphia and lived there for many years while teaching at Mariana Bracetti Academy Charter School. In recent years, she traveled as much as she could while mainly residing in Fairfield. Known as "TT" to her family, Tracey was a bright light in this world with a beautiful, infectious smile. Everyone who met her couldn't help wanting to know her better; she made friends everywhere she went.
As everyone's secret keeper, she was the most accepting and nonjudgmental person. Her humor shone through, as she had a way of laughing at herself and brought laughter into all situations (whether it was appropriate or not). Being the most selfless person, she was always the first to jump in and help anyone who needed anything, and refused to let others do for her. Adored by everyone who met her, she was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Creativity in the kitchen and cooking with family and friends was something Tracey truly enjoyed, along with listening to music and spending time on the beach and out in nature. The family house on Bell Island was always a favorite place for Tracey to spend summers and holidays with her cousins and loved ones.
Starting her career in education at Mariana Bracetti Academy in 2002, she became the Director of Special Education in 2006, and dedicated over 23 years to transforming that program through her dedication along with the countless relationships she formed with students, families, colleagues and support agencies. She briefly worked with young children who loved her deeply at Nitzan Nursery School in Norwalk, CT from December 2023 to May 2024.
Tracey is survived by her mother, Roseanne Sedita, of Fairfield, CT; her brother and sister-in-law, Eric & Julie Macklin, and their children, Mimi and Lexi, of High Springs, Florida; her sister and brother-in-law, Melissa & Michael Edelen, and their children, Jack, Aidan, and AJ of Boynton Beach, Florida; her brother and sister-in-law, Tim & Jennifer Macklin, and their children, Max and Ella of Fairfield, CT; her sister and brother-in-law, Corey & Andrew Scinto, and their children, Lucy, AJ, and Eli of Fairfield, CT; her uncle and aunt Steve & Robin Sedita; her aunt and uncle Diane &Charlie McGill; her uncle and aunt Robert & Kathy Sedita; aunt Glenda Macklin; and aunt Edie Macklin; her cousins, Christy Sedita, Kelley Sedita, Leigh Robinson, Rachel Proto, Charlie McGill, Brendan McGill, Brooke Carter, Jesse Whitsett, CJ Macklin, Ron Macklin and Will Macklin.
