Obituary of Mary Ann Dobyns

Mary Ann Dobyns, 94, of Shelton, passed away Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024.

Mary was born in Bridgeport to Edward and Ida Sessler and grew up in the North End. She joined the Air Force and served as a Nurse. After serving, she worked for Bridgeport Hospital and later Carlton Chronic and Convalescent Hospital in Fairfield. Mary would go on to marry Thurman Dobyns. She relocated to Fairfield in 1963 and spent over 20 years in town. Mary later moved from Fairfield to Stratford, spending ten years there, eventually settling in Shelton, where she lived for 22 years with her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Regina Dobyns.

Mary is survived by her son, Tim Dobyns of Delaware; her son, Tom Dobyns of Seattle, WA; and her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Regina Dobyns of Shelton, CT; her Grandchildren, Johnathan and Eric.

Mary is predeceased by her husband, Thurman Dobyns, and son, Mark Dobyns, and her parents, Edward and Ida Sessler, and her sister, Sandra Sessler.

All Services will be held Privately. The family would like to thank the VA for the exceptional care and attention they gave Mary over the years.
