Obituary of David E. Curran
Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
David E. Curran, 58, of Fairfield, Connecticut, born on May 23, 1966, departed this world on September 6, 2024 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family at his passing.
"Dave" grew up in Fairfield, graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School, and, together with his brothers, operated a successful business, Curran and Sons Plumbing. He will always be remembered as the most handsome plumber in town! He will also be remembered as one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Dave had an ease and charm that made everyone feel comfortable and special. He remembered names, and he always asked people how they were doing. His genuine love for people was a rare gift that others received from him.
His family and friends will especially miss Dave's wonderful way. He was incredibly loyal and dependable to all of us. Dave loved being a family man and adored his three children and long-time partner Gabby, who introduced Dave to many happy adventures in Europe with her relatives.
Dave really loved life. He grabbed it by the horns with an attitude that he was here to love, learn, and grow. This made him a true Renaissance man. His many passions and interests included sports, reading, music, meditation, real estate, and cooking. He was a fantastic cook—and a great pickler! He was also an early crypto-currency enthusiast. So much so was his excitement that he travelled to conferences around the world to participate in what he believed was a revolutionary moment in history with positive potential for humanity.
He was perhaps most proud that he quit alcohol. He was a very determined and committed person who could set his mind on something and do it. He was an incredible inspiration to many, and there are many stories where we all witnessed his level of care for others as he'd try to help others succeed in creating their own deliberate and better lives.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, John and Barbara Curran (Nee Hartley), also of Fairfield, CT. He is survived by his loving partner, Gabrielle Di Bianco, with whom he lived in Milford, CT; his three children, Hartley Curran (24), Maks Curran (21), and Quinn Curran (18); the mother of his children, Gentra Curran; his siblings Jack and Lynn Curran, Amy (Curran) and Jay Hudgens, Thomas and Stacey Curran, William and Meghan Curran their children Briana and Meghan Curran, Michael and Nicole Hudgens, Austin and Chase Curran, and Bailey, Elliot, and Liam Curran.
As per Dave's wishes a celebration of life party will be announced for Spring 2025 and will coincide with his birthday. Details will follow on social media. All are welcome.
