Obituary of Kenneth James Neeley
Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kenneth James Neeley, age 76 of Fairfield, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.
Born and raised in Bridgeport, son of the late Christopher and Anna Lantowski Neeley, Ken had been a Bridgeport resident for most of his life before moving to Fairfield several years ago. After graduating from high school he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Later, Kenneth received his Masters Degree from the University of New Haven. He worked for many years as a Program Director for the ABCD CO. of Bridgeport until his retirement and volunteered his free time helping various organizations in and around Bridgeport. Ken loved the outdoors, his old dog Rex his camping buddy along with Anna and the kids in the neighborhood.
He enjoyed BMX racing with Anna up and down the East Coast, picking up a few trophies of his own along the way in the over " 50 " class. More than anything he loved the times that he spent with his grandchildren. POPPOP was always there when You called. He will be missed by all.
Survivors include his daughter, Anna C. Slusarz and her husband Steven of Greenwich, his precious grandchildren Michael and Abiageal ( Abbey ) Slusarz, a brother Christopher Raymond Neeley Jr and his wife Jennie, nieces and nephews Linda Gorel and her husband Jim, Theresa Neeley Alexander, Christopher Raymond Neeley III and their families.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am in St. Ann Church, Brewster St., in the Black Rock Section of Bridgeport. Burial will be held privately. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6 pm in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the ASPCA.
