Obituary of Sharon M. Palavra
Sharon M. Smith Palavra, age 60, beloved wife of Constantione "Gus" Palavra, of Bridgeport, passed away on May 29, 2019 in Saint Vincent's Medical Center.
In addition to Gus, her devoted husband of forty years, Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her children, Melissa Palavra, of Bridgeport; Michael Palavra and his wife Chelsea, her cherished granddaughter, Jupiter, all of Loveland, CO; Her siblings, Peggy Antrim, Debbie Murray, Pat Najamy, Vinny Smith, and Bob Smith
The daughter of the late Herbert and Josephine O'Toole Smith, Sharon was raised in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, and moved about thirty years ago to the North End. A Bassick High School graduate, Sharon's outstanding work ethic and love for people led to becoming a manager at many places. She was mostly known for being Sharon of Captain’s Pizza #1 on Main Street in Bridgeport, where she worked for more than 25 plus years.
She enjoyed hosting people at her home, cooking and grilling for more people than needed. A lively person who was the life of the party, Sharon enjoyed trips to Mohegan Sun and Las Vegas. Some of her favorite getaways were summer family vacations to the beaches of Cape Cod, Aruba, and Cancun. She enjoyed experiencing different cultures and visited Turkey many times. Well known everywhere she went, her big heart touched numerous lives for the better. Always thinking of her family, friends, and those in need, she was truly a person who would worry more about others more than she did herself.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3 to 6 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Friends are invited to join her family directly in Saint Ann Church 481 Brewster Street, Bridgeport for her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11 AM. Her interment will be private.
