Obituary of Veronica D Adriani

Veronica D. Somma Adriani, age 92 of Easton, wife of the late Philip J. Adriani, Sr., passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 7, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Veronica was born and raised in New York City, the sixth of nine children, daughter to the late John and Catherine Devine Somma and later moved to Bridgeport in 1955 after marrying her husband Philip Adriani Sr., before moving to her home in Easton in 1957. She had worked for over 25 years as a realtor for Fairfield County Real Estate and belonged to the Greater Bridgeport Board of Realtors and the Greater Fairfield Board of Realtors. Mrs. Adriani was a devout Catholic and had been a founding parishioner of the Notre Dame of Easton Church where family had contribution envelope # 1. Veronica was a member of the Notre Dame Lay Caring Ministry and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Mrs. Adriani was awarded the St. Augustine Medal of Service in 2006. Mrs. Adriani is survived by her sons, Philip Adriani, Jr., and his wife, Ann, of Easton; two granddaughters, Kathryn and Sara, Lawrence Adriani, and his wife, Brenda, of Monroe and Robert Adriani, and his wife, Colleen Kearney, of Easton; a sister, Muriel Meier, and her husband, Fred, of Greenwood Lake, NY; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Veronica was predeceased by her brothers, Frank, John, Andrew, and Melvin Somma; and sisters, Regina Giganti, Eileen Somma, and Gertrude Schaff. Funeral services will be held on Friday July 12, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. directly at Notre Dame of Easton Church, 655 Morehouse Road, Easton with burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Calling hours will be held on Thursday July 11, 2019 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center.
