Obituary of Myron Buchkovskyy

Myron Buchkovskyy, age 69, of Stamford, beloved husband of Svitlana Shandra Buchkovskyy, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 after a long illness. Born and raised in Ukraine, son of the late Semen and Kateryna Aleksa Buchkovskyy, Myron came to the United States in 2000 and had been a Stamford resident for many years. He was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage and had a great interest in Ukrainian politics. In his younger years, Myron enjoyed music and singing and dancing to folk songs. He loved the outdoors and nature and was a man who was always ready to help others. Though he was ill for a long time, Myron really loved life and never complained. He was a real example of patience, acceptance, and good spirit. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed. In addition to Svitlana, his wife of 43 years, he leaves behind his daughter, Ulyana Horodyska and her husband, Taras, of Stamford; his grandchildren, Severyn and Lukian Horodyskyy; a sister, Ana Bilyk, of Madrid, Spain; as well as several nieces in Ukraine. A memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Holy Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 457 Noble Avenue, Bridgeport. Friends may call at the Church on Wednesday from 6 till 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church. Arrangements in the care of the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home.
