Obituary of Anthony Marsillo
Anthony Marsillo, age 92, of Fairfield and Florida, beloved husband of Lucy DiFiglia Marsillo, entered into eternal life on November 13, 2019 in his Connecticut home with his loving family by his side.
Born in Cantalupo nel Sannio, Italy to the late Luigi and Lucia Matticoli Marsillo, Anthony immigrated to the United States in 1946. Coming to a new country with nothing, Tony was a self-made man and went on to make a rewarding and successful life for himself and his family, allowing them to have opportunities that he did not have. He had lived in Rosedale, NY from 1957-1992 and worked as a machinist for the New York City Transit Authority where he retired from in 1986, and later moved to Fairfield in 1992. Tony was an avid hunter and gardener and he loved to cook and host parties to entertain friends and loved ones where he was always the life of the party. He was a spirited man who was also a great storyteller.
Tony loved his family and would sacrifice anything for them. In addition to Lucy, his loving wife of 70 years, Tony's memory will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Mary Jo Iannuccilli, and her husband, Joseph, of Greenwich; his sons, Anthony Marsillo, and his wife, Diane, of Fairfield and Dr. Robert Marsillo, of Fairfield; his adored grandchildren, Carianne and Peter Harten, of Yonkers, NY, Joseph Anthony and Lauren Iannuccilli, of Bryn Mawr, PA, Kristen Marsillo, of Fairfield, Anthony Joseph Marsillo, of Milford, Jennifer Anne and Charles Stine, of Stratford, and Scott Robert Marsillo, of Fairfield; four great-grandchildren, Riley and Peter Harten and Joseph and Arlo Iannuccilli; a brother, Victor Marsillo, and his wife, Columbina, of Brooklyn, NY; and a sister-in-law, Mary Marsillo, of Brooklyn, NY. In addition to his parents, Tony was predeceased by a brother, Pasquale Marsillo, of Brooklyn, NY, as well as his infant brother, Italo.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 3-7 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. His Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. directly at The Chapel of St. Pius X, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield.
