Obituary of Ethel Mary Keri

Ethel Mary Laczko Keri, age 81, of Fairfield, beloved and devoted wife of the late Steven Keri, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 18, 2020.
Born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late John and Mary Sanislo Laczko, Ethel had been a Fairfield Town resident for most of her life. Ethel received her Art Diploma from the University of Bridgeport and later worked for the Handy and Harmon Company as a Mechanical Paste Up Artist as well as the Westport School of Fine Arts.
Mrs. Keri was very proud of her Hungarian heritage, she enjoyed traditional Hungarian folk music and dancing with her husband Steven and their friends. She was known for cooking her Hungarian-American specialties for her family especially around the holidays.
Ethel also liked ceramic workshops, travel and miniature golf. She will be remembered as a warm and caring woman who made many sacrifices for her family and always went the extra mile for family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving sons, Steven J. Keri, of Fairfield and Thomas J. Keri, and his wife, Amanda Vitola Keri, of Shelton. Ethel was the proud grandmother to Mackenzie and Julie Keri; Godmother to Lorrie Kertesz Silber. She leaves behind her childhood best friend, Helen Jakab Wakely; as well as sisters and brothers in law and nieces, nephews, and cousins in Hungary. She was predeceased by her son John C. Keri.
Funeral services to be held privately in the care of the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home.
