She was born on May 6, 1922 in Boryslav, Ukraine, one of six children of Martin and Kataryna Tertij Fedoriw. With her father deceased by 1939, Natalie escaped the Soviet invasion of Ukraine in 1944 to end up in Germany where she used her language skills to gain employment in a Berlin radio station. Her employer then helped her secure papers to escape to Badgestein in Austria, where she spent 4 and half happy years, meeting her future husband in a displacement camp. She emigrated to the United States in 1950, getting married and living in Springfield, MA where her daughter Oresta was born. Soon after, the family moved to the New Haven area where her husband gained a degree in Music from Yale while she raised their three children, eventually moving to Woodbridge in 1974. Mrs. Cybriwsky worked as a multi-lingual cataloguer for the Yale Sterling Library for over thirty five years until her retirement in 1996. Natalie was very proud of her Ukrainian heritage yet was also fluent in Polish and German, adding to her love of opera and classical music concerts. She was an excellent seamstress, an avid reader, and enjoyed traveling. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed. Survivors include her daughter Oresta Cybriwsky of Erding, Germany and her sons Alexander and Daniel Müller, her son Nestor Cybriwsky and his wife Anne of Manhasset, NY, and their children William, Natalie and Peter, and her daughter and loving caregiver Nina Iovino Baker and her children Christopher and Katarina Rose Iovino, and husband Lane Baker. In addition she was very close to her niece Marta Evans and her husband Ian of Durham, England, as well as several extended family members.
